That's according to Ted Pappageorge, the head of the union that represents the backbone of our resort industry. Thousands of its members live in North Las Vegas, where the union says rents for a one-bedroom have jumped 47 percent from 2019 to 2022.
“This issue of these corporate landlords buying homes, buying apartment buildings, buying short-term rentals, cornering the market, jacking up the rents - what you're really hearing out there is the sound of pigs at the trough. They are not going to give up easily,” he tells me.
