Tourism is the lifeblood of Las Vegas. No other city in the world depends on tourism like us.

It is great that the LVCVA’s mission is “To attract visitors by promoting Las Vegas as the world's most desirable destination for leisure and business travel.”

However, the LVCVA needs to protect visitors coming to Vegas by steering them clear of labor disputes that can hinder their Las Vegas experience.

Labor disputes are often ugly, especially the Station Casinos labor dispute. Both the LVCVA and Station Casinos have not warned clients about labor disputes and clients have ended up moving their convention out of Nevada instead of patronizing another Vegas venue. This is especially concerning as most gaming companies in Vegas are recovering from one of the toughest recessions.

The LVCVA can inform visitors about labor unrest so that visitors are not blindsided by something they did not expect. Visitors should have access to all the information to allow them to make an informed decision about their stay.

Tell the LVCVA that they should act responsibly by being transparent with Las Vegas visitors by warning them about labor unrest.
