At the end of December 2020, every member of Nevada’s federal delegation – Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen, and the Congressional delegation, including Representatives Dina Titus, Steven Horsford, and Susie Lee – voted in favor of passing a new COVID-19 relief package.

The new COVID-19 relief package includes expanded unemployment benefits, direct payments to working families, small business relief, aid for hospitals and frontline workers, funding for vaccine distribution, and more critical relief.

That means that there will be:
*Direct payments of $600 for individuals making up to $75,000 and $1,200 for couples making up to $150,000, as well as an extra $600 per eligible child dependent.
In order to qualify for the payments, you must be either a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident (green card holder), or a qualifying resident, and have a Social Security number. TPS holders and DACA recipients are also eligible to receive a direct payment.

*Additional unemployment benefits of $300 (on top of the standard NV benefit) per week from January 2, 2021 - March 14, 2021.

The IRS started to deliver the second round of direct payments on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. To check the status of your direct payment visit the IRS website: https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof-wmsp/login

You may have received the amount via direct deposit already. Check for a deposit from "IRS TREAS."

Culinary Union will keep pushing Congress for $2,000 direct payments to help support all working families!
