Culinary Workers Union Local 226 says workers will strike for 48 hours at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas starting Friday at 5 a.m.

The union, along with Bartenders Local 165, is calling attention to the stalled contract talks that have been taking place since last year with operators of the off-Strip property. The walkout by some 700 non-gaming employees at Virgin marks the unions’ first strike in Las Vegas in 22 years.

The Culinary is asking the community and customers not to cross the picket lines between Friday morning and Sunday at 4:59 a.m. when the abbreviated strike is scheduled to end.
