The Culinary Union celebrated the grand opening of a new health center Thursday, expanding primary care options for union members and their families.

Union leaders said the center is the result of a collaborative effort to address rising healthcare costs.

“Because we all know there’s a crisis in healthcare right now, there just is,” said Ted Pappageorge, secretary-treasurer for the Culinary Union. “Costs are through the roof. We’re all doing what we can to contain them. Well, here’s your answer right here.”
