Culinary Union, state leaders voice concerns over economic challenges and workers' rights

As concerns grow over declining Las Vegas tourism numbers, attractions at The Sphere have been bringing in tourists from all over the world.

However, Monday evening, the immersive entertainment venue caught the attention of dozens of Culinary Union Local 226 members during a ‘Workers’ Labor Day Rally’ calling for unionized contracts for the more than 700 Sphere workers.

As the attraction gains popularity with its recent shows, Culinary Union Local 226 members showed support for Sphere workers, while also calling for job security after raising concerns over the current economic status of Las Vegas.

“They came here, they built a wonderful job, but still in Las Vegas, we have a standard, and that is the culinary standard, where workers have a contract, and we are here asking them to sign the contract,” said Culinary Union Local 226 President, Diana Valles.
