Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) took to the Senate floor to pass her bipartisan No Tax on Tips Act, which would exempt American workers’ tipped wages from federal income tax. Senator Rosen successfully passed the bipartisan legislation by unanimous consent after receiving no objections on the Senate floor. The bill now heads to the U.S. House of Representatives to be considered. Nevada has the highest concentration of tipped workers in the nation, and the bipartisan No Tax on Tips Act would allow workers to keep 100 percent of their tips without having to pay federal income tax on them. This legislation also includes guardrails to ensure that it benefits Nevadans who need it most, and not CEOs and wealthy individuals.
