Labor board says Station Casinos violated labor law, issues bargaining order for union

A federal labor board ruled that Station Casinos management violated labor laws multiple times to dissuade workers from supporting union membership.

The ruling from the three-member panel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) orders Station Casinos to recognize Culinary Union's representation and bargain with the labor group.

In their decision published Monday, the panel wrote that the record showed Station Casinos' "extensive coercive and unlawful misconduct stemmed from a carefully crafted corporate strategy intentionally designed at every step to interfere with employees’ free choice whether or not to select the [Culinary] Union as their collective-bargaining representative."

The Culinary Union first filed the labor complaint back in 2019, alleging Station Casinos offered workers benefits like family healthcare and 401(k) plans to encourage them to vote against joining the union.
