STATEMENT by Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge regarding AB261 (Ensuring every vote is counted):

Last year, there was a significant uptick in the number of voters who needed their ballots cured. While it will take time to understand exactly why this happened, Culinary Union canvassers encountered a significant number of voters on both ends of the age spectrum whose signatures had likely changed over time, resulting in the need for them to cure their ballots.

The government should take every opportunity to collect updated signatures from Nevadans to ensure that every vote is counted and to reduce the workload on election officials during the critical ballot-counting period.

The Culinary Union urges the Nevada Legislature to support and pass AB261.
