Back-To-School Fair is this Saturday, August 4, 2018

The Culinary Health Fund’s annual Back-To-School Fair is this Saturday, August 4, 2018! Eligible Culinary Health Plan participants with children ages 4 to 18-years-old who are covered by Culinary Health plans are welcome.

At the fair, you will find:

• Child vaccinations
• Sports physicals (must schedule an appointment)
• Basic dental exams
• Face painting and balloons
• Backpacks filled with school supplies (limit 1 per child, child must be present)
• Nevada Talking Book Services: information about a free library service for people with disabilities

2018 CONTRACT FIGHT
SETTLED: MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Stratosphere, Four Seasons, Plaza, Tropicana, Westgate, Fremont, Main Street, Golden Nugget, Binions, and Four Queens have agreed to a 5-year contract with the highest economic package evernegotiated.
 
3,400 workers are still fighting for their contracts -we stand in solidarity on the streets and at the negotiation table.
 
Contracts have expired 6/1, but negotiations continue for: SLS, Margaritaville, Treasure Island, Downtown Grand, El Cortez, Golden Gate, and The D.

Lucha de Contratos del 2018
Resueltos: MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Stratosphere, Four Seasons, Plaza, Tropicana, Westgate, Fremont, Main Street, Golden Nugget, Binions, y Four Queens han acordado contratos de 5 años con el paquete económico más grande que jamas se haya negociado.
3,400 todavía están luchando por sus contratos –mantenemos nuestra solidaridad en las calles y en la mesa de negociaciones.

El 1º de junio se vencieron los contratos, pero siguen las negociaciones para los siguientes: SLS, Margaritaville, Treasure Island, Downtown Grand, El Cortez, Golden Gate, y The D.

The new 5-year contract includes groundbreaking language on worker security regarding sexual harassment, workload, technology, and immigration.

Next step: contract ratification. More information on voting location, date, and time soon. Congratulations to the Stratosphere and Four Seasons workers on the highest wage increases ever!
• MGM and Caesars: contracts ratified!
 
Negotiations continue for: SLS (including the W Hotel), Treasure Island, Tropicana, Westgate, Binion’s, Downtown Grand, El Cortez, Four Queens, Fremont, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget, Main Street, The D, and Plaza.

The Culinary Union’s Grievance Team works to help members fight for justice in the workplace. Fernando, a utility porter from Aria, won $125,000 in his case! Congratulations, Fernando!

Card check neutrality agreements were recently signed by the company. Card check for 900 workers will be executed soon. Encourage friends and family you know at Hard Rock to sign a UNION YES card!

Last week, we picketed and leafleted in front of The D and Golden Gate.
We will be picketing again at these properties this week! There will be picket lines at each location in the morning and in the evening. Wear your UNION shirt and stand in solidarity as 3,400 workers fight for a new contract. Tell the companies: No justice? NO PEACE!
